Use A ‘strong’ Subject Line

Not using a subject line will most likely put your eCard right into someone’s junk folder. Using a subject line that sounds ‘spammy’ will either get you blocked, or you will be ignored by the recipient. Also, avoid the overuse of punctuation, like triple exclamations . Note: Employees managing eGift Cards on File must have the Add and Remove Customer Cards on File point of sale permission enabled for their permission set.

Redeem A Gift Card With Your Iphone Ipad Ipod Touch

Peel or gently scratch off the label on the back of the gift card to reveal a 16-digit code that starts with X.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open the App Store app.

At the bottom of the screen, tap Today.

At the top of the screen, tap the sign-in button or your photo.

Tap “Redeem Gift Card or Code.” If you dont see Redeem Gift Card or Code, sign in with your Apple ID. Learn what to do if you forgot your Apple ID.

Tap “Use Camera” and follow the instructions on the screen. If you have trouble redeeming the card, tap “You can also enter your code manually,” then follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure that you enter the 16-digit code that begins with X.

Tap Done.

Activate Your Visa Gift Card:

First, you have to make sure youre Visa gift card is activated. If you bought it in a brick and mortar retail store then your gift card was most likely activated when you bought it at the cash register.

If you bought your gift card online it is possible that you have to activate it. Normally all you have to do is go to the website thats printed on a label stuck on the card and enter the 16 digit number along with the security code. You may have to call the 800 number printed on the gift card if there is no website.

Not sure if youre Visa Gift Card is already activated?

Just go through the process of activating your card again. It wont hurt and youll know for sure if its already activated or not.

Accept Your Egift Cards

You can accept eGift Cards through the Square Point of Sale app by either entering the 16 digit redemption code or charge the customers Gift Card on File, or by looking up the customers email or phone number in your Customer Directory. Your customers can also use your eGift Cards to place orders through Square Online.

Note: eGift cards are redeemable at all of your locations. All eGift card sales will be processed by the selected reporting location.

Note: eGift Cards cannot be redeemed from 3rd-party eCommerce integrations.

How Is My Order Delivered

Your recipient will receive an email or text message that contains a link to their gift card. You will also receive a confirmation email. The link will take them to their personalized gift card. The gift card can either be printed for use at the merchant unless the merchant has specified online redemption only on the brand’s page. In some cases they can use the gift card directly from their mobile phone.

You May Have To Follow Up

Successful delivery means that the technology workedthe email got delivered, the text message went through, the post went on Facebook and so forth. Successful delivery does NOT mean that the recipient actually received the gift.

I once sent an egift card to my brother via a smartphone app. Although he received a text message from the app, he didnt recognize the sender. When he had trouble clicking the link contained in the text, he gave up and ignored it completely.

The One Big Catch: Insufficient Funds

This is the most common issue people have when using Visa gift cards online. So whats the problem?

Well, using a Visa gift card online is a little different than using that same gift card in a store.

When you go to the store with a $25 Visa gift card and buy something thats $30, the cashier would use the Visa gift card and then ask for a second form of payment for the remaining $5. This is known as a Split Tender Transaction.

Unfortunately, almost no online merchants are set up to accept Split Tender Transactions. This means if you attempt to buy something that exceeds the value on your Visa gift card youll get an insufficient funds error.

There are some hacky ways around this that allow you to use a Visa gift card for partial payment.

Some Egifts Only Work Online

Although many egift cards can be used in stores, some merchants restrict egift card redemption to online purchases. Requirements such as this should be clearly stated on the store or restaurants website. Visa egift cards, for example, must be used online.

TIP: Make sure online accessible. Before buying an egift card, check to see where it can be used. If only redeemable online, consider giving an amount that will cover potential shipping charges. If redeemable in stores, confirm how the gift code can be presented at the cash register. In most cases, the recipient should be able to either print the email received at home and present the paper copy to a cashier or simply show an electronic version of the code instead. One of the most powerful features of most modern image editing programs is being able to place image elements into layers.
